Molloy College to host poetry event on May 4

Molloy College and its Writer-in-Residence, Barbara Novack, will be hosting a poetry event featuring George Guida and Doreen D. Spungin on Sunday, May 4 at 3 p.m. in the Reception Room, Kellenberg Hall, on Molloy College’s Rockville Centre campus. This event is free and open to the public. An open reading will follow the featured presentation.

George Guida teaches English and creative writing at New York City College of Technology and is Poetry Editor of 2 Bridges Review. Author of five books, two collections of poems, and a novel, his work has also appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies. 

Doreen D. Spungin writes as Dd. Spungin and hosts a monthly poetry reading for Poets In Nassau at Sip This in Valley Stream.  Her poetry has appeared in a variety of publications, including literary journals, both print and online, and poetry anthologies. Several of her poems have also been set to music by Julie Mandel.  

The Poetry Events series at Molloy College was founded by Barbara Novack in conjunction with the English Department.  The aim of the series is to bring contemporary poetry to a wider audience.
