The New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Board of Education set a tax levy of $29,795,947 for the upcoming school year at its meeting on Aug. 10.

The levy is a 0.9 percent increase from last year’s sum of $29,531,279 and falls within the limitations set by the state tax cap program.

Board of Education also approved resolutions permitting the sale of nearly $3000 worth of textbooks that were deemed obsolete. It also accepted nearly $750 in donations to be used to purchase school supplies.

School Superintendent Robert Katulak said the only resolution on the agenda that was not voted on was a resolution to make Flushing Bank the district’s depository.

“The resolution for Flushing Bank was pulled because we don’t have all the details yet,” Katulak said.

The Board’s next meeting will be on Sept. 21 at the Manor Oaks School.
