NHP Bulldogs split at festival

The Island Now

The New Hyde Park Bulldogs took a win and a loss Saturday, April 30 at the famous Sewanhaka Day Lacrosse Festival. In their first game they faced long-time rival, The Franklin Square Warriors.

The Bulldogs played hard in this evenly matched game. Midfielders Brian Hoerter and Dan Celic unloaded a barrage of shots that helped the Bulldogs achieve a well deserved 4-1 win.

In their second game, the Bulldogs were matched up with the boys from Long Beach PAL.

The Bulldogs seemed a bit worn from that first game and just couldn’t seem to get the ball in the cage.

Goalie Nick Armon and Crease Defender Charles Chiarello did their best to keep it close but the final went to Long Beach 6-3.

Assistant Coach Pat Connolly thought “they [Bulldogs]played pretty well, but back to back games in tournament play, knocked them out, they’ll be running hard this week at practice”.
