NHP TOP teams tally loads of goals

The Island Now

New Hyde Park TOP welcomes new junior players,  Ariel Huang and Juliet Noonan.  All the juniors were on the scoreboard today.

Lucas Mitacchione was on a roll and scored three of the Red Lobster goals.

Teammates  Brandon Cisneros, Brian Cisneros, James Sarro, and Jhaisyn Almanzar were also on board.  Jesse Sarro gave his team great support.

The Green Alligators was also goal oriented.

Brian Lawrence, scored twice and fellow Alligators players,  Ariel Huang, Juliet Noonan, Demon Pearson, Desmond O’Callaghan, all had spectacular goals.  It was an exciting and well played match.

The intermediates had a great match.  With terrific offensive and defensive plays, it was very similar to last week.  Cobra goalies Daniel Calabrese and Annaliese Jurena and Red Dog goalies Josh Hom and Petros D’Amico all made unbelievable saves and kept both teams in the game.

The Red Dogs’ two strikers Sophocles Gianakis and Josh Ham, showed expertise and skill as forwards and scored for their team.  Kyle Hanratty, Chris Menedez and Alex Laroia were tough midfielders for the Red Dogs.  Danny Durso and Ashlyn Jurena scored for the Cobras.

The winning goal seemed to be a group Cobra effort that the ref was unable to see who scored.  So, kudos to Matthew Laseuv, Daniel Menedez and the Cobras for their winning effort.

It was another exciting match for the Seniors with the Red team coming away with the win.

The Red Team strikers,  David Glass, James Fahey, Timmy Roth and Sammy Duggan, put the ball past the Green Team’s goalie who happened to be a coach.

The Red team was support defensively by  Adam Strominger,  Samuel Ho, Jefferson Yen, Harrison Stein, Charlie Hinz, Michael Raihl, Andrew Raihl and Justin Almonte.

Andrea Matteo and Sebastian Gonzalez of the Green Team scored against the Red team’s goalie/coach despite pressure from Green team’s midfielders and defenders  Matthew Saraiva, Justin Durso, Patrick Williams, Tristan Yang, Frank LaPinta, Nickolas Mazariegos, Nick Marangoudakis, and Mary Glass.

As hard as they tried, they just couldn’t put another goal in the back of the net.  It was a well-played game which showed immense determination from all players.

TOP players want to wish a special happy birthday to coach Richard Bletsch, the former TOP director and all around great guy!
