Nicole Rose Salon opens in Munsey

A DJ’s speakers blared. A sushi spread and champagne bar covered the front counter. Guests dressed head-to-toe in black and red crossed a red carpet to get inside.

The scene at 1289 Northern Blvd. in the Village of Munsey Park on Saturday night had all the makings of a dance club, but revelers were celebrating with a purpose – the new Nicole Rose Salon was holding its grand opening.

“We want to give customers an intimate experience,” said Nicole Rose Xouris, the salon’s owner. “Instead of going to some huge factory of a place, we want to make a connection to our clients. We want to really put our energy out there.”

Xouris, of Williston Park, said the shop specializes in “all things hair,” including extensions, cuts, coloring and texturing.

The salon on Saturday held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Munsey Park village trustees. It first opened in mid September.

Xouris said the salon’s location would be ideal to attract customers from across the North Shore and Queens, and be particularly convenient due to its proximity to the Americana Manhasset.

“We stand out because each and every one of our employees specializes in something and has extensive experience in the field,” Xouris said. “We have somebody for every need.”

She also said the salon’s neighbor, the full-service spa Flirt, could also be a potential source of customers.

“We have a great relationship with them,” Xouris said. “We could refer people to them, they could refer people to us. I love them.”
