The new North Shore-LIJ/GoHealth Urgent Care in Roslyn celebrated its grand opening Thursday with a ribbon cutting celebration.

A crowd of nearly 40 people showed up to the new location at 1033 Northern Boulevard for the celebration, including Town of North Hempstead Clerk Wayne Wink, Councilwoman Anna Kaplan, Flower Hill Deputy Mayor Robert McNamara and Flower Hill village administrator Ronnie Shatzkamer.

Dr. Robert Korn, Medical Director of North Shore-LIJ/GoHealth Urgent Care said the grand opening felt “very warm and welcoming.”

“[The grand opening] reinforces my feeling that it was a good decision to locate this clinic here,” Korn said. “The mission is to get the whole population healthier and we are a part of that.”

Wink, who is also a member of Roslyn Chamber of Commerce, said he was glad to welcome North Shore-LIJ/GoHealth Urgent Care to Roslyn.

“[The Roslyn Chamber of Commerce tries] to provide the opportunity of recognition for these new businesses,” Wink said.

The facility has four exam rooms and can comfortably see 35-40 patients a day, Korn said.

“We want Roslyn residents to see to think of us an alternative to an emergency department,” he said.

Korn said Roslyn residents are very familiar with North Shore-LIJ, and with the opening of the new facility, they will be able to receive medical care close to where they live and work.

North Shore-LIJ/GoHealth Urgent Care in Roslyn will also feature, as Korn said, “integration with the healthcare system.”

Patients who receive treatment at the facility will be able to get in contact with a specialist in real time from a hospital or private practice, Korn said. Medical records will also be kept electronically.

Having been open for four days prior to Thursday’s grand opening ceremony, Korn said the facility has already seen up to 20 patients in one day.

“[It] has been a very successful clinic immediately upon opening,” he said.

Matthew A. DePace, the Marketing and Community Engagement Manager for North Shore-LIJ/GoHealth Urgent Care, said getting involved in the community is a priority.

“We want to be helping the community in any way possible,” Depace said. “Our main goal is to be your community urgent care center.”

North Shore-LIJ/GoHealth Urgent Care in Roslyn is the 17th North Shore-LIJ/Go Health Urgent Care location in the New York area.

Korn said North Shore-LIJ/GoHealth Urgent Care plans to expand to Westchester in January, although no official date has been set.

Other North Shore-LIJ/GoHealth Urgent Care locations include Nassau County, Suffolk County, Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan.

The facility will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
