Here we go again, ladies and gentlemen ! Another Obama “roadshow”!
Just when I thought he had stretched the powers of his presidency beyond my imagination, President Obama again decided that his vision of America just couldn’t wait for something as trivial as following our Constitutional process.
1- If his appointments won’t get the necessary Congressional approval, he’ll just make them a czar!! (great choice of words!)
2- If they just can’t face Congressional grilling, he will just use that “interim appointment” gimmick!!!
3- If he just doesn’t like the Congressional veto, he’ll just create an executive order!!
4- And today, when I thought I heard it all , when an executive order was just a bit too much, he would simply do an “ executive action” (whatever that is ?) and grant work visas to his selected chosen people.!!
After all, just because our Congress vetoed The Dream Act, why couldn’t he just veto the veto!
Circumventing our 225 year-old Constitution has become a routine ! When it comes to getting his own way, James Madison never anticipated someone like our current President!!
But, wait a minute. Wasn’t there “a bunch” of Presidential actions this year, in which the Supreme Court unanimously decided that our President had truly violated his Constitutional limits ?
You bet there were. Even those recent liberal, Obama Supreme Court appointees voted against him!!:
1- In the Hosanna-Tabor Church case., Obama decided that a church could not fire one of it’s own religious teachers. Unbelievable ! The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 in support of the First Amendment and against the president!
2- In the U.S. vs. Jones , the Court again unanimously ruled against Obama and refused to allow him to place a GPS device in the car of a suspected drug dealer, without a court ordered warrant ! Way to go Court !! And, wait till you hear about this next one,
3- In Sackett vs. Obama , when the EPA ordered a citizen to stop building an already partially- constructed home by claiming that it was in violation of The Clean Water Act , without a judicial review, the court again unanimously voted against Obama and in favor of our property rights” !
What’s coming next for this president ?
A) ObamaCare vs. the Commerce Clause (maybe this week)
B) Arizona vs. U.S. (could Obama’s federal policy trump State’s rights of security ?) and
C) Voter ID (can Obama prevent the state’s own voter safeguards?)
When Obama tried to humiliate Chief Justice Roberts in that famous State of the Union address, I never realize the extent of his contempt for our Supreme Court .
Where are those, especially those in his own Democratic party, who value our own constitutionally guaranteed rights more than a short-term political win ?
Wake up America before our beloved Democracy is just a “ thing of the past”.
