Old Bethpage hosts 1880s Halloween

The Island Now

Old Bethpage Village Restoration will host “1880 Long Island Halloween” on Saturdays, Oct. 19 and 26 and Sundays, Oct. 20 and 27.

“I invite everyone to bring your family down to Old Bethpage Village Restoration and enjoy a fun filled day of “Haunted” Halloween activities,” said Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano.

The festivities will include readings of Irish and American ghost stories, carving Jack-O-Lanterns, and a chance to tour the haunted habitats of Old Bethpage during the village ghost walk.

Festival-goers will also be able to participate in a 19th century monster hunt throughout the village and hear the tales of our local grave digger.

The village’s festivities will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Old Bethpage Village Restoration is open Wednesdays through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $ 7 for children; children under five are free.
