The former housekeeper for an Old Westbury couple is suing them for allegedly cheating her out of unpaid overtime hours, according to documents filed in Brooklyn federal court March 28.
Beata Pietrasik, a Queens resident, alleges that she worked many hours at Lesley and Shirley Stier’s homes in Old Westbury, the Hamptons and Manhattan but she was not compensated for the hours.
The Stiers’ are the owners of Nassau Candy, the Hicksville-based candy distributor.
Documents filed by Pietrasik’s attorney, Scott Lucas details what Pietrasik said were “strenuous” and “mentally tasking” jobs.
Pietrasik said she was employed by the Stiers’ for seven years making $600 per week until she was diagnosed with serious hernia and her employment was terminated.
She alleges in the court documents that she worked an average of 60 to 72 hours every week including “intense scrubbing on hands and knees” since mop usage was prohibited by the Stiers.
She also said she was not paid for her final work week before she was hospitalized for emergency hernia surgery in December 2015.
Pietrasik is seeking over $600,000 in unpaid wages.
Efforts to reach the Stiers and Lucas were unavailing.
