One hospitalized after Northern Boulevard crash

A man was hospitalized Monday after the silver sedan he had been operating collided with a green pickup truck along Northern Boulevard near the Village of Roslyn Estates, officials said.

Jon Sendach, public information officer for the Roslyn Hook & Ladder Fire Company, said a portion of the sedan’s roof was removed to free the unidentified man from the vehicle.

The victim was then transported to a local hospital by Nassau County emergency rescue personnel, he said. The operator of the pickup truck was not hospitalized.

Nassau County police were unable to immediately disclose details of the crash, though the green Chevrolet pickup truck appeared to sustain damage to the rear driver’s side while the sedan’s front passenger side was apparently damaged.

Debris from both vehicles was scattered the roadway. The sedan was brought into a parking lot near Bikram Yoga Roslyn, located at 1062 Northern Boulevard.

Sendach said the fire department was first notified of the crash at 1:54 p.m. Monday. Nassau County police were already on scene, he said.
