Plandome Manor trustees approved a local law on Tuesday that would grant the board the ability to exceed the state-mandated tax cap in formulating the village’s 2015-16 budget.
The law was passed as a “precautionary measure,” Village of Plandome Manor Mayor Barbara Donno said, “in case there’s any kind of mistake in calculation or if there’s anything we have to do different at the last minute.”
Donno said the board has no intention of breaching the tax cap this year.
The board, she said, has not exceeded the cap since the mandate was enacted in 2011.
