Nassau County Police are on the lookout for an eccentrically attired bank robber – and there’s a reward in it for a lucky tipster.

Nassau County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect responsible for the June 14 robbery of a Citibank location in Roslyn, police said.

At 5:49 p.m. that afternoon, a suspect who police described as a white man between 35 and 45 years old and standing between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, wearing a black and gray dreadlock wig, fake black beard, dark blue cargo hat, dark blue jacket, dark blue pants, black shoes and opaque latex gloves entered the Citibank at 1075 Northern Boulevard armed with what appeared to be a uzi-type machine pistol, police, said.

Police said he confronted the bank’s employees at gunpoint and forced a manager to open a door to the teller’s area and then open several teller drawers to remove an undisclosed amount of money.

He then fled the bank south on foot, though he was seen in a brown sedan prior to the robbery, police said.

Crime Stoppers asks that anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts or identity call its toll free hotline at 1-800-244-8477.
