Port Washington school trustees reappointed Karen Sloan as the board’s president and unanimously elected Trustee Nora Johnson as vice president during the board’s annual reorganization meeting on Tuesday

“I would like to just say thank you for your confidence in me and that I’m looking forward to another year with the school district,” said Sloan, who has served as board president for the last five years.

Sloan nominated Johnson to replace former Vice President William Hohauser, who served the position for the last three years. The board voted 6-0 in favor of Johnston’s election.

Hohauser and Trustee Alan Baer, who were each re-elected to three-year terms in May, were also sworn in to their positions.

“We are looking forward to another great year,” said Port Washington’s Superintendent of Schools Kathleen Mooney said. I want to thank Mr. Hohauser for his service as vice president. It is very much appreciated.”
