Port Washington PAL opens spring registration

The Island Now

The Port Washington Police Athletic League (PW PAL) announced that registration is open and ongoing for 2016 Spring Sports Programs.

Continuously operating since 1948, PW PAL is the oldest youth sports organization in Port Washington and the only to offer professional coaching in all it’s programs.

Spring 2016 PW PAL is offering professionally run programs in T-Ball, Soccer, Tennis, Baseball, Softball and Basketball.

All programs play at Sunset Park on Lower Main Street, the only fields in town with lights allowing night games.

PW PAL offers open registration in all our younger athlete programs.

“We never turn a child away for any reason,” PW PAL Executive Director Rob Elkins said.

“The PW PAL D-Backs are the best option in the area for real competitive Softball. We offer teams in Spring, Summer and Fall with no restrictions on which seasons you can play. We field teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U levels, the only program that goes beyond Little League age. Athletes don’t stop loving their sport when they become teenagers and we recognize that by offering professionally run travel programs at the cost of a non profit,” Elkins said.

The D-Backs win championships every year, use only independent professional coaches and play a true travel schedule while remaining true to our roots as a community based non-profit.

“We don’t make cuts, we make players,” Elkins said.

Starting May 2016 PW PAL will also offer the only outdoor Basketball League on the North Shore.

Registration open for teams and individual players.
