A Port Washington woman was arrested Friday morning in East Norwich on various drunk driving-related charges, including the violation of Leandra’s Law, authorities said.

Whitney K. Gold, 34, was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol level above .1 percent, two counts each of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger—known as Leandra’s Law—and endangering the welfare of a child and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Upon responding to a disturbance call on Northern Boulevard and Oyster Bay Road, Nassau County police said they found Gold engaged in an argument with a female friend outside of her 2015 Cadillac Escalade.

Following an investigation at the scene, police said Gold had been intoxicated and driving with a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy in the vehicle.

Gold was arrested without incident, police said. The children were released to a family member at the scene.
