A Port Washington woman was killed on Monday after she was struck by a box truck while crossing a street, police said.
Sandra Samuels, 75, walking east in a crosswalk on Waterview Drive near Soundview Drive at 8:15 a.m. when she was hit by the truck, police said.
Police said Samuels was transported to North Shore Hospital in Manhasset for the treatment of multiple injuries, but was pronounced dead at 12:13 p.m. by physicians.
Police at the site conducted a brake test on the truck, described as a 2015 International Box truck, and later released to the 30-year-old driver.
Police also said no criminality is suspected, but added that an investigation is ongoing.
