Portledge School names new trustees

Richard Kirikian, President of the Board of Trustees at Portledge School in Locust Valley, New York has announced five new members to the Board of Trustees:

Claude Bahnik, ‘90 is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mill-Max Mfg. Corp. in Oyster Bay, NY, maker of machine components.  Mr. Bahnik is an alumnus of Portledge, and he and his family have been Portledge patrons for many years.

 Stephen Palacios is an Executive Vice President with the marketing consulting firm Added Value Cheskin.  He and his wife Gloria have two children at Portledge,  Andrea, ‘15 and Andrew, ‘16.  Stephen recently served on the Portledge Marketing Task Force and was instrumental in drafting the 2013-16 Strategic Plan.

 Jack Piuggi is the Managing Partner of Israel A. Englander & Co., Inc., a derivative brokerage company.  Mr. Piuggi and his wife Phyllis, both longtime supporters of Portledge, will have two sons at Portledge in the fall: Samson, ‘16 is a current student and Marco,‘17 begins in September.

Richard Puma is Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Tudor Investment Corporation in Greenwich, Ct. He and his wife Lucy Choy have one child at Portledge, Zachary, ‘20  and are enthusiastic new parents to the school.

Truett Tate is Chief Executive Officer and Head of Institutional Relationship Banking for the American Unit of the Australia and New Zealand Banking group.  Mr. Tate, his wife Dorthe and daughter Annika, ‘18 are returning to Portledge after several years abroad.  Along with Annika, son Sebastian (‘23) will be a new student in the fall.

Portledge is an independent, college preparatory, pre-nursery to grade 12 school. Within this inclusive community, students are inspired to realize their individual potential by developing the critical thinking skills and moral courage necessary for success and life-long learning in an increasingly complex world.
