Ben’s Delicatessen Restaurant & Caterers in Greenvale hosted the grand prize winners of Ben’s 40th Anniversary contest on July 26.
James and Lorraine Maniscalco, who reside in Douglaston, Queens, recently returned from their grand prize trip to South Dakota, the 40th state in the United States.
Ben’s chose the destination in honor of the restaurant’s 40th anniversary, which it celebrated last year.
The Maniscalcos received a certificate from Ben’s congratulating them for their contest win and enjoyed a delicious Ben’s dinner in the dining room. After sharing their photographs from their trip and stories about the places they visited, they presented the owner of Ben’s Restaurant Group, Ronnie Dragoon, with a thank-you card for sending them on the trip.
Lorraine Maniscalco said that traveling should be an educational experience and an opportunity to learn new things and this trip did just that. She also said that South Dakota is probably not somewhere they would have chosen for their vacation destination but they are glad they had the chance to experience it and enjoyed their stay.
The Maniscalcos won their cross-country trip by entering the “Why I Love Ben’s” Facebook essay contest.
Ben’s held a Facebook photo contest, T-shirt design contest and an essay contest for a chance to win the grand prize.
