R.A.I.S.E. students to work Sweet Comfort kiosk

The Island Now

Students in the R.A.I.S.E and Life Skills Programs at Roslyn High School and Roslyn Middle School have a unique opportunity to work at the COFFEED/Sweet Comfort bakery kiosk located at the Roslyn Annex.

This activity is the result of a partnership between the bakery, a not-for-profit enterprise that employs developmentally disabled adults, and the school district, whose students benefit from a program that provides a real-life work experience.

The students learn valuable vocational, academic and daily living skills as they learn to take inventory, assist customers, prepare coffee and exchange money, all under the supervision of special education faculty members.

The kiosk is open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 11:30 am in the Roslyn Annex, where students sell and serve coffee, tea and various baked goods to Adult Education participants and other members of the community.

Please stop by and support both of these outstanding programs.

Did we mention that it’s also delicious?
