Roadwork project is top WP priority

Paul Ehbar

Your village board and I continue to work on the issues surrounding the current road project.

It is our No. 1 priory to get this situation resolved. There are ongoing issues that the village is dealing with on a daily basis. We are committed to bringing this project to completion as soon as possible.

On Aug. 5, 2014 the Neighborhood Watch Committee will be holding its second “Children’s Parade for a “Safer Williston Park.” Please come join us at 7:00 p.m.

Ride your bicycle, tricycle, scooter, wagon or be pushed in a stroller. The event will be starting at the corner of Broad Street  and Brown Street while ending at Keller Field.

Neighborhood Watch block captains will be working to ensure safety for all and will be serving ice cream to all children at the finish line.

Kelleher Field has under gone renovations in order to make the playground more user friendly.

The equipment is welcoming and enjoyable for use by our children. It is hoped that by replacing the sand with fiber material the wasps will find new homes elsewhere.

Dog walkers: Please do not walk your dogs in the park. There is nothing more unpleasant than a child having an encounter with animal waste.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank both our volunteer Williston Park Fire Department members and volunteer auxiliary police officers for their continued dedication to help make our Village safe.

Speaking of safety, I ask all to drive safely at all times.

There are numerous residents and nonresidents alike walking, jogging running, strolling, bike riding, etc. on our sidewalks and streets.

We all must use caution and common sense if accidents are to be avoided.

With nice summer days upon us many are out enjoying the great weather.

Everyone’s cooperation will lead to a safer more comforting village.
