Romney flunked 1st foreign policy test

The Island Now

Everyone insists that the only important issue in the presidential campaign is jobs and the economy. I think that foreign policy is very important.

We need a president who understands that we must be very careful in how we act with all the nations that exist on this planet. We have much to fear if we elect a president who knows very little about diplomacy and the need to show respect for other nations. No longer can we believe that force will get us where we want to be.

Romney made a number a impolitic remarks on his trip to countries that we feel are our friends. Just try to imagine what he could say to those who do not like us for many reasons, and rightfully so. He is already talking about using force where we have to tread very carefully. We have had enough of unnecessary wars. We have not done much to make friends, and in the process, have had to expend much money that we did not have, and destroyed the treasure of our young men, a generation who would have meant much here at home.
