Roslyn Estates approves sale of DPW truck

Bill San Antonio

Roslyn Estates village trustees on Monday approved the sale of a truck used by the village Department of Public Works for $15,000 to pave the way for a pickup truck the village leased last month.

The village in December finalized a five-year municipal lease of a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 with a sander and snow plow for $62,470.80.

Trustees said last month that the village’s truck had been operated beyond its usefulness and was in need of replacement.

In other developments:

• Trustees set a public hearing for the board’s February meeting on whether to approve a contract from the Roslyn Fire Companies, comprised of the Roslyn Highlands and Roslyn Rescue fire departments.

The contract, administered annually, is worth $179,602, Roslyn Estates Village Clerk Bryan Rivera said.
