A Roslyn Heights man was arraigned Jan. 28 for allegedly stealing more than $27,000 from Bank of America through a scheme involving several accounts.

Rudolph Rubinstein, 26, was arrested at his home Thursday on one third-degree grand larceny charge for perpetrating the alleged scheme between Sept. 25 and Oct. 6, 2015.

Police said at least one of the Bank of America branches involved in the scheme is in Manhasset.

Rubinstein would allegedly deposit money into one account and write a check charging money from that account.

He would then either cash the check or deposit it into another account, and subsequently withdraw the money from the first account before the check cleared, creating a profit for himself and a loss for the bank.

Rubinstein’s bond was set at $5,000 cash or $7,500 bond. He is due back in court Feb. 1.

Bank of America declined to comment.
