The Island Now

The Long Island Business News selected Roslyn native Greg E. Bloom to their “Around 50” Class of 2013.

The LIBN “Around 50” awards program recognizes dynamic professional men and women who are dedicated to the success of companies and organizations on Long Island, as well as to the well-being of the local communities throughout Nassau and Suffolk. Awardees are selected by a panel of business and community leaders based on the nominee’s business acumen and community involvement.

Partner/Director at Garfunkel Wild, P.C. in Great Neck and chair of the firm’s business practice group, Bloom represents clients in connection with complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, leasing, loans, management and other corporate matters. He regularly counsels clients regarding complex legal and compliance issues in connection with a variety of business matters.

Bloom’s practice includes the representation of both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, as well as individuals in a variety of industries.  He has particular expertise and experience representing physicians, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, physician management companies and other clients in the healthcare industry.

Bloom has also given his time to support numerous community programs over the years. He has coached hundreds of Long Island children in both baseball and basketball over the past 12 years.

During those years, he has managed teams in the Roslyn Little League and the Roslyn Booster Basketball Club. For the past five years he has served on the Board of Directors of the Roslyn Little League. He has also served on the Sid Jacobson JCC Travel Basketball Committee in Roslyn.

Following Hurricane Sandy, Bloom and his family volunteered to help communities on the south shore of Long Island with recovery efforts by assisting in clean-up projects as well as the organization and distribution of supplies to those in need. Bloom lives in Roslyn with his wife and three children.

Bloom is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association. He was also recently recognized as a “Super Lawyer” and is included in the New York Metro Super Lawyers list for 2013.

A recent awards dinner at the Crest Hollow County Club honored those individuals and firms selected.
