Eric Landstein, of Roslyn, found a 70-year-old wedding ring last week in the Roslyn train station parking lot.

Soon after, his father, Joel, put out a Facebook post in search of the ring’s owner that has been shared over 1,000 times.

“I hope you find the owner, you are doing a good service for the couple!” said Kathy Rothenberger, a commenter on Facebook.

“Bless you for taking the time to find the owner,” said Dawn Scifo, another commenter.

As of Tuesday, Joel Landstein had yet to find the ring’s owner.

“It’s been quiet the last few days,” he said.

After Eric found the ring, he and his father tried to read the engraving on the inside of it but the writing had faded, Newsday reported.

Joel Landstein took the band to a jeweler, who could make out two sets of initials and a date that included a day, a month and the year, 1948, according to Newsday.

Joel Landstein said on Facebook the owner of the ring can claim it if he can correctly identify the engraving.

The post has been shared by individuals in Poughkeepsie, Locust Valley, Melville, Massapequa, Commack, Glen Cove and Sea Cliff, among other places.

Joel Landstein told Newsday he’s gotten some inquiries about the ring but none have been successful.

“Your desire to return this speaks volumes about your good character,” Cecilia Sanossian said to him on Facebook. “So nice to see these days.”
