Roslyn man’s windshield shattered while driving

A man driving home from work beneath the railroad overpass on Roslyn Road last Monday said someone threw two rocks that shattered the rear window of his car.

Christopher Longhito, of Selden, told 1010 Wins the rocks were thrown from the railroad bridge and hit the part of the Lincoln MKZ hybrid where his 3-year-old son’s car seat is usually located.

“If my 3-year-old was in the car in his seat where he normally sits, he definitely at the very least would have been covered in sharp glass,” he said.

Longhito, who was alone in the car at the time of the incident, said another rock hit his front license plate and windshield and “scratched up my hood a little bit.”

He then pulled over the car and called 911, but said the person who threw the rocks was gone.

“A woman pulled over. She had seen the whole thing…kinda calmed me down,” he said.
