Jenny Hutt said that ever since she was a kid she struggled with her weight.

Hutt, a Roslyn Harbor resident who now hosts a radio program on SiriusXM, said her mother tried to help her lose weight, taking her to dieticians, a food behaviorist and even going to a weight loss spa, which Hutt said hurt more than helped her.

Hutt, 46, said her struggle continues to this day.

This month, Hutt  is appearing on the cover of the April issue of O Magazine alongside Oprah Winfrey and eight other women, to share her weight loss journey. It is the first time that Winfrey has shared the cover of her magazine with other women.

Hutt, who is an avid reader of the magazine, said she found a post on the magazine’s Facebook page in late December soliciting women who were willing to talk about their weight.

“I wrote the publisher and entered myself since I’ve been a longtime reader of the magazine,” Hutt said.

She said she wanted to be a part of what the magazine is doing because of what O Magazine stands for.

“Whatever issue they tackle is always in an honest, sensitive way,” Hutt said. “I feel like that was a place to share my story not on my website or my radio show.”

In the story that appears in the magazine, Hutt details her struggles to lose weight, is shown at various stages in her weight battle and lists her goal to “Lose five to ten pounds, wear a size 6, and conquer my body issues.”

Hutt said she was excited to appear in the magazine, but had no idea that Winfrey would be making an appearance at the photo shoot.

“We all just lost it when she walked out towards us,” Hutt said.

Hutt said although she had met Winfrey once when a friend was appearing on the Oprah Winfrey show this experience was different.

“She was great, warm, terrific and kind,” Hutt said.

Hutt said it was not until she went in for the photo shoot did she realize there were eight other women, all being prepped for clothing changes and make up.

“There was a teenager, there was a woman who needed to lose 100 pounds and we all talked about own journey during the photo shoot on a Sunday,” Hutt said.

Hutt is no stranger to being in the public eye.

She co-hosted ‘Whatever,” a daily radio talk show with Alexis Stewart, Martha Stewart’s daughter from 2005 to 2011 — which became a hour-long television program on the Hallmark Channel.

She has also co-hosted the “Dr. Drew on Call” with Dr. Drew Pinsky on HLN and has appeared on numerous television shows and currently hosts “Just Jenny” on SiriusXM.

Her brother, Brian Koppelman, has worked on dozens of films as a writer, director and producer. His work includes co-writing “Ocean’s Thirteen” and creating “Billions,” a hit drama series currently airing on Showtime.

Hutt graduated from Tuffs University in 1992 and Hofstra University with a law degree in 1995.

At 21, Hutt said, she lost a lot of weight which she gained back when her mother was diagnosed with cancer and later died.

She said she would continue to lose weight and then gain it back throughout her life.

After she started hosting a radio program, she said, she gave birth to her two children and didn’t lose the 40 pounds she gained during her pregnancy.

Finally, she said, she learned that she had high blood pressure and her internist put her on a diet.

“I walked, did the Bar Method, and finally hit my super-low adult weight,” says in the magazine.

Hutt said she has since gained back about eight pounds, but has kept to her goal to stay below double digits.

“My plan is to be a little more healthy,” Hutt said. “If I lose the eight pounds, great. If I don’t, I just want to get a little more comfortable in my body.
