Roslyn students shine at Long Island Math Fair

Fifty-five Roslyn students in grades seven to 11 from the middle school and high school won medals at the Long Island Math Fair at Hofstra University on April 26. They competed against more than 900 students from several dozen schools across Long Island.

Medal winners from Roslyn High School were: Gold: Samantha Goldschmid, Mahip Grewal, Chloe Kaplan, Alan Louis, Ludia Ock, Samantha Wiebe. Silver: Anna Ben-Levy, Daniel Chai, Taylor Freeman, Daniel Friedfeld Gebaide, Hannah Kreisberg, Justin Li, Rachel Mintz, Andrew Penner, Alexa Silver, Nathan Yang. Bronze: Emily Chen, Benjamin Heyman, Ross Kaplan, Christopher Leu, Samuel Markowitz, Alyssa Neo, Annie Rose, Alexander Sims, David Spatola, Ian Warshawsky

Medal winners from Roslyn Middle School were:  Gold: Robert Benatar, Nicholas DiSanti, Henry Golub, Anuj Gupta, Holly Kim, Evan Kirsh, Mark Kong, Justin Leu, Josh Londin, Spencer Markbreiter, Adam Robbins, Michelle Roitgarts, Adam Sirota, Isabella Smith, Todd Warshawsky. Silver: Matthew Batnick, Joy Chung, Ellie Eisenberg, Benjamin Faber, Abigail Flyer, Matthew Litvack, Robert Pomerantz, Rachel Sterneck. The annual event is sponsored by the Nassau and Suffolk Mathematics Teachers Associations, and the Nassau County Association of Math Supervisors.
