Village of Russell Gardens trustees approved a resolution at Thursday’s board meeting authorizing the village to purchase new signage for all nine of the village’s entrances and a new sign for Village Hall.

Village of Russell Gardens Mayor Steve Kirschner said the village’s current signage was outdated and needed an upgrade.

“We’re going to have all of our signs, which haven’t really been updated in about 25 years, to be redone,” Kirschner said.

He said the signs, which would be made by Lynbrook-based company Davinci Signs, would cost the village approximately $10,430.

“That’s approximately the cost to replace all of our village signs so that they will look much more presentable,” Kirschner said.

Also at the meeting, trustees David Miller and Matthew Ellis, who won re-election to their board seats last month, were sworn in for their two-year terms.

Miller received 39 votes and Ellis received 38 votes.

Both incumbents ran uncontested on the Evergreen Party line.

Both Miller and Ellis began serving on the board in 2012.

Daniel Nachmanoff, a Great Neck Park District commissioner and former mayor of Russell Gardens, swore in the re-elected trustees.
