Schimel speaks on small business

The Island Now

Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel recently organized a meeting between the executive board of the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce and leading experts in small business finance to discuss the financial resources available to small businesses on Long Island.

This was the second meeting that Schimel and Sylvia Chertow, legislative chairperson of the NCCC, have organized in an effort to address financial issues facing main street businesses on Long Island.

Guest speakers at the recent meeting included John Bozek, vice president of Small Business Lending for the Community Development Corporation of Long Island, Nancy Carin, executive director of Boc Capital, Roslyn Goldmacher, president and CEO of Long Island Development Corporation, and Lucille Wesnofske, director of New York State Small Business Development Center.
