Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Councilman Peter Zuckerman recently invited Roslyn High School star athlete Allison Schneider to Town Hall to honor her for her successful athletic and academic career at Roslyn High School.
On her way to scoring a school record 52 goals for the girls lacrosse team last season, the 18-year old senior had more than just her opponents to overcome. Schneider was born with a hearing impairment and listens with the assistance of a cochlear implant. Despite that, she is on her way to shattering her own school scoring record this year and has been a four-year varsity player both in basketball and lacrosse, garnering All-Conference honors in basketball this past season.
Schneider, who came to Town Hall with her father Steve, will be heading to Adelphi in the fall to play lacrosse while she studies Health Science with the goal of pursuing a career as a Physician¹s Assistant.
“Allison is such a credit to her school and her family,” Bosworth said. “She is an inspiration to all of us here in the Town of North Hempstead.”
“Allison is a true class act with a great work ethic both inside and outside the classroom,” Zuckerman said. “I wish her the absolute best as she moves on to college and continues to achieve great things.”
