Seeking help to locate honored prof

The Island Now

Recently I was going through some papers and folders from ages ago and I came across a book published in 1967 called “Poems and Poets of Israel.”

It was written by one of my professors at Boston University, Dr. Esor Ben-Sorek. He was a fabulous teacher and was twice voted outstanding professor of the year by the university student council.

His classes were among the most popular in the College of Liberal Arts and students stood in long lines at the semester registration tables to be able to get into one of the classes he taught.

I graduated in 1968 but I always remembered him and wonder what he is doing. I once heard that he moved to Nassau County about 40 years ago and I heard it was one of the Great Neck villages.

I have looked in the Nassau directory and have gone online to find out where he is.

If any of your readers know where and how he is, I’d appreciate it if they contacted your newspaper.

I will always remember him as one of the greatest professors at B.U. during my student days.

Thank you for any help you can provide.
