The Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center in East Hills held its Community Day Celebration Sunday, in recognition of the official opening of the Kroll Family Aquatics Center.

The celebration included family playtime, arts and crafts, a swim clinic, free family swim and games in the pool, a candy buffet and Zumba classes, among other activities.

“It was a wonderful day that brought our community together,” said Sarah Schmitt, the Associate Executive Director of Membership and Fitness of the Sid Jacobson JCC. “Everyone swam together and played together.”

Schmitt added that the Kroll Center, which features a number of upgrades and redesigns of the men’s and women’s locker rooms, a new zero entry kiddie pool and a completely rebuilt hot tub and lap pool, has evolved into “the center of the agency.”

More than 300 people attended Sunday’s celebration, which saw members new and old flock to the JCC to participate in the afternoon’s festivities.
