Sid Jacobson to kick off Jewish film festival

Sid Jacobson JCC’s 22nd Randi and Bruce Pergament Jewish Film Festival will show the 2014 Israeli comedy “Kicking Out Shoshana” on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 4:00 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 17 at 2:30 p.m.

Set in the conservative city of Jerusalem, Ami Shoshan, an Israeli football player is punished by a mafia boss for flirting with his girlfriend and forced to pose as a homosexual. 

Shoshan is banned by the players and fans of his team, but becomes a hero to the gay community. 

“Kicking Out Shoshana” is directed by Shay Kanot and is in Hebrew and English with subtitles.

Tickets for the Dec. 13 showing are $14 and tickets for the Dec. 17 showing are $10 and can be purchased at
