Solution to stray cats needed

The Island Now

I am writing to you out of desperation. I live in the Village of New Hyde Park and I am inundated by five or more stray cats using my backyard as a litter box in the evening hours.

Every morning I have to go out and clean up their mess from the night before.

I am a senior citizen and this is not right for anyone to have to do this day after day.

The people who are feeding these cats and letting them stray to my yard and others should be ashamed of themselves for letting this go on for so long.

If the New Hyde Park homeowners who are reading this letter are responsible for this, donate these cats to the ASPCA who will take care of them unlike what you people are doing to the neighborhood by your inconsideration for your neighbors.

If you want these cats, keep them inside your home. Fence in your yard and keep that at your house and see how you like cleaning up after them day in and day out.

You are not doing these animals any favors and you certainly can’t call yourselves animal lovers. During their nightly strolls they are killing birds and leaving them in my yard. Innocent birds are being eaten alive by your actions.

If you people continue doing this, come to my back yard, and clean up my back yard and also bring a deodorizer.

I am sick and tired of smelling their poop.
