On Monday, May 16, the Stallions of St. Aidan’s made school history by earning their first win of the inaugural season by beating Long Beach Catholic by a score of 10-5.  Behind starting pitcher Joe Dellolio, who earned the win and reliever Stephen Poarch the Stallions beat Long Beach Catholic. Delllolio and Poarch combined for a two-hitter and struck out eight batters.

The hitting attack was led by Patrick Solosky, who blasted  a bases clearing double, an RBI triple and a single for a combined four RBIs.  Also contributing to the offensive attack were Will Cavallaro, Chris Marotta, Joe Dellolio, Aidan Scott and Stephen Poarch. Nice defensive plays were made by Jack Mackay catching, Joe Dellolio at short and Patrick Solosky at first base.

Mackay and Delillo nailed a Long Beach Catholic runner trying to steal home when the ball skipped away from Mackay. Mackay flipped the ball to Dellolio and the runner was out by a few steps. Patrick Solosky recovered an errant throw from an infielder and tagged the runner for the out.
