Summer arts fest kicks off June 9

The Island Now

The second season of Rich Rivkin’s Summer Arts Festival Series will begin June 9 with an expanded schedule of 11 outdoor festivals taking place at waterfront parks, museums and college lawns across Long Island.

The festivals will feature 40 live bands accompanied by 75 artists simultaneously speed-painting while inspired by the music, audience interaction, and scenic views.

“Each week, I see the magic that’s created when we combine a large number of artists with high energy musicians,” said series producer Rich Rivkin. “Live Painting in this charged atmosphere becomes an exciting entertainment genre, and makes for a uniquely cool vibe.  Fans move to the groove, while watching amazing works of art come to life before their eyes.”

Rivkin has been producing live events and festivals since 2000, enlarging the presentations every year.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to bring expanded mega-versions of these events to Nassau County this year, and honored to have booked some of Long Island’s most loved rock, blues, and reggae bands for this outstanding sight and sound series,” he said.

The 2013 Summer Arts Festival Series features a calendar of multi-themed events including Woodstock Revival, Long Island Sound & Art Festival, MarleyFest, North Shore Blues Festival, Grateful Fest, Rock Village Festival, Jamboozi Festival, Live Art Fusion Festival, Rock The Cradle Festival, and Live Art Drum & Dance Fest.

This year’s festival sponsors include Sam Ash Music Stores and The Paramount Huntington.

Artists are welcome to participate at each event, and can contact Rich Rivkin at rich@jazzfusion.tv.
