Knock, Knock! Hoot’s There?

It’s an owl! Barn owls are the most widespread species of owl, and one of the most widespread types of birds! Join us as we learn about the diet, habitat and lifecycle of the barn owl and how their survival skills aid them during the harsh winter months. Then create your own feathered owl friend to take home!  Ages: 5 and up. Fee: $3 with museum admission ($2 LICM members).

Travel back in time to the early 20th century where families will go on a scavenger hunt throughout the Museum, participate in improv theater workshops with actor/comedian and teaching artist Lauren Brickman, and design miniature sets, costumes and characters. Museum admission plus $10 per family materials fee. Reservations not needed. Please Note: this event is in place of Family Sundays at the Museum.

Crafts for Kids at Michaels

It’s a Love in Bloom Valentine! Drop in for Kids Club and your little makers will create a Heart Flower. They craft, you shop! Kids 3 and up can enjoy a quick project and take home a finished masterpiece. Sign up in store or online, or just drop in. $2 per child, supplies included. Parent or guardian must remain on premises during the event.

Without a word, the innovative Swiss mime theater troupe Mummenschanz delights audiences with their masks, shadow, light, and endless creativity. Mummenschanz’s choreography and intricate props have been integral to their success since the players first met in Paris, 1972. Mummenschanz humorously turns the ordinary into extraordinary when everyday objects and colorful abstract forms spring to life. $42 general admission/$21 for children 12 and under.
