William Shatner’s characterization of Captain James T. Kirk began a universal love affair with the Star Trek brand, and with the larger than life personality of the actor himself. In Shatner’s World, a one-man force of nature delivers a larger than life performance complete with his laugh-out-loud humor, signature storytelling, and select musical selections in his inimitable style.

Comedian Jessica Kirson’s wide variety of characters brings a diverse energy to her stand-up routine. She has been featured on various television shows, including, Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and”Fresh Faces,” NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” Season 2 and 3, NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly,” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”.

3) Joelle and the Pinehurst Trio

Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio is next up for the Music At The Mansion Concert Series. This New York City based band’s versatility and repertoire allow them to transition from elegant jazz to a rocking dance-party music. The band plays its own unique jazz/pop arrangements and original music at venues in all over the tri-state area.

4) Dennis DeYoung: The Music of Styx

Saturday, Jan. 23, 8 p.m.

Dennis DeYoung is a founding member of the rock group Styx, which has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide, with DeYoung writing eight of the band’s nine top 10 singles. DeYoung’s songs have been featured in more than 30 television shows including The Simpson’s, E.R., King of Queens, Sex in the City, Will and Grace, That 70’s Show, Saturday Night Live and South Park.

5) The Lords of 52nd Street

Saturday, Jan. 23, 8 p.m.

The Space will be alive with the sounds of some of Long Island’s best musicians Saturday, as Liberty DeVitto, Richie Cannata and Russell Javors, whom Billy Joel hand selected to help create his classic hits and unforgettable tours, reunite on stage once again as The Lords of 52nd Street. Get ready to hear an eclectic mix of tunes from the Piano Man’s music catalog .

6) Genoa City Live 

Sunday, Jan. 24, 1 p.m.

Genoa City Live, a series of live fan events dedicated to CBS’ long running daytime drama, “The Young and the Restless,” will be at The NYCB Theatre at Westbury on Sunday.  Fans will get up close and personal with their favorite stars in an event that features audience interaction, question and answers, behind-the-scene stories and secrets, trivia and photos.

7) Zooman and The Sign

Jan. 22 – Jan. 24, 8 p.m., except Sundays at 3 p.m.

Jan. 27 – Jan. 31, 8 p.m., except Sundays at 3 p.m.

The Nassau Community College Departments of Africana Studies and Theatre and Dance will present Zooman and the Sign, a play by Charles Fuller, about the murder of a 12-year old black girl by Zooman, a black teen. This arresting play has been called as shocking as today’s and tomorrow’s murder headlines.
