Threat of gun use in Capital One robbery

A man threatening to use a gun robbed the Capital One Bank branch at  422 Hillside Avenue New Hyde Park late last Friday afternoon.  

Nassau County Police detectives said a man entered the bank at 5:25 p.m., approached a teller and presented a robbery demand note which threatened the use of a gun. 

The teller complied and handed over an undetermined amount of cash to the man, who then fled on foot eastbound on Hillside Avenue, police said.  

Five employees and three customers were present in the bank at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a white male white approximately 30 years of age, 5’9” tall, with a thin build and light complexion. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and sunglasses, police said.
