Two men shot in Roosevelt Field eatery

Two men were shot in a Garden City restaurant early last Sunday morning, Nassau County Police said.

Homicide squad detectives said an altercation among patrons inside Mint, a restaurant and Lounge located at 1 Ring Road in the Roosevelt Field mall, escalated into gunfire on March 16 at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Police said an unidentified suspect fired gunshots into a crowd of people in the restaurant. Two unidentified men, ages 21 and 23, were shot, one in the head, the other in the leg.

Police said both victims were transported to a local hospital and were admitted for treatment of their injuries. The victim with the head wound is listed in critical condition and the victim with the leg wound is in stable condition, police said.

Police declined to release any further information about the circumstances of the shooting of the two men.
