Wheather can’t stop TOP soccer

The Island Now

New Hyde Park Wildcats TOP soccer started its first practice under cloudy and threatening skies.

According to the weather forecast, a few hours in the morning were to be hot, humid and dreary.

More than 40 athletes showed up ready to play soccer.

After warm-ups, the players began working on their skills with the coaches helping them improve their dribbling and shooting.

The athletes were set to start their games.

As one coach heard a little thunder, the rain started and that was the end of the first fall session.

Needless to say, the players, parents and coaches were quite disappointed.

At least the athletes did get some playing time and touches on the ball.

If the weather holds out next week, we will gather again.

Anyone who is interested, please meet us at the Center Street Elementary School, Saturday Sept. 15 at 10 am.
