The Partners Council for Women’s Health of the North Shore-LIJ Health System raised more than $475,000 for the health system’s Katz Women’s Hospitals and Katz Institute for Medical Health with its annual fall luncheon and fashion show at Old Westbury Gardens, which previewed the fall 2013 collection of designer Michael Kors.

The 21st annual event on Wednesday was sponsored by the Americana Manhasset and emceed by Fox 5 news anchor Rosanna Scotto, who along with the health system’s  vice president of Women’s Health, Dr. Stacey Rosen, spoke to the crowd of 565 guests about the importance of women’s health issues and the continued work of the Katz Institute’s team of doctors.

“The Scotto women are the lynchpins of my family,” Scotto said. “I understand the importance of taking care of a woman’s health and recognize the need to support the work being done at the Katz Institute for Women’s Health at North Shore-LIJ.”

Scotto and Rosen also showed a video detailing the stories of female patients that had been treated by the health system and showcased the impact of North Shore-LIJ doctors who specialize in women’s health care.

“The Katz Institute we think of as a way of harnessing the strengths of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, whether it be in clinical practice or research and education and aligning them, creating new opportunities for women in our community to come to us to maintain wellness,” Rosen said in her video interview.

The fashion show displayed Kors’ daytime and evening designs for the fall season, and the make-up and hair design was provided by Manhasset’s nuBest Salon and Spa. Guests in attendance received a cosmetic bag courtesy of nuBest and a gift certificate to the Americana Manhasset’s Michael Kors shop.

In the last 20 years, the Partners Council for Women’s Health has raised more than $6.5 million for the funding of medical equipment and research projects for the health system.
