Readers Write: A thank you for votes for town supervisor

The Island Now

I am writing to express my gratitude to the Town of North Hempstead community for electing me to serve as your next town supervisor. As I transition to my new role, which I will assume Jan. 1, please know that I am grateful for your support, and I am honored to serve this wonderful community.

I would like to commend my opponent, [Town] Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio, for running a formidable campaign. I look forward to working with her on the town board.

As we approach the start of the new year, I want to focus on building. Building bridges, building our community and yes, fixing the building department. I am eager to get to work representing the people of North Hempstead.

Thanks to your support, I will be able to lead the town in an inclusive way, making sure that everyone has a seat at the table and that everyone who has something to say is heard. I am committed to representing you and continuing and building upon the progress begun by my predecessor, Supervisor Jon Kaiman.

Finally, please know that my door is always open. I am proud of my reputation as a person who listens, responds and works hard for my constituents.

As a Nassau County Legislator, I work diligently and in a bipartisan fashion to serve the people I represent. As town supervisor, I will continue to serve the community responsively with energy and enthusiasm.

I look forward to working with you and continuing our partnership in the coming years. Thank you again for allowing me the privilege of representing you as supervisor of the Town of North Hempstead.

Judi Bosworth

Nassau County Legislator, 10th L.D. Supervisor-Elect, Town of North Hempstead
