Readers Write: Conservative bizman backs Bosworth

The Island Now

I am a businessman, a lawyer and a conservative. I usually vote for Republicans. I am voting for Judi Bosworth.

Judi is about representing her constituents. Whether it has meant getting funds to help the school district, public improvements, programs for the young and elderly, spending hours on conference calls during Sandy or simply spending time with every ethnic, religious, civic and other group in her district (well before she was running for a contested office), Judi is about helping her constituents whether Democrat or Republican.

Judi was one of the few to speak out aggressively and seek answers on the police precinct consolidation; she works tirelessly on environmental concerns such as our aquifers and fighting against waste.

Yes she did refuse to be a coward and reverse the energy tax (inasmuch as Nassau County still had a huge hole) but she has also raised questions about the hundreds of thousands of dollars wasted on lawyers and consultants who are pals of the county executive.

Judi is a positive person. She works with people. Her opponent runs ads in boxing gloves and showing a person (supposedly Judi) drowning.

Exactly the kind of trite, simplistic nonsense we do not need in North Hempstead. Leave that for the den of thieves in Albany and the hack party gnomes (both sides) in Washington.

Judi served for 16 years in the Great Neck School District including six as president. Great Neck School District has a budget almost identical to the Town of North Hempstead.

The closest thing I have seen to school district budgeting, state mandates and constraints and citizen input is town government.

Judi has also served for six years on the Nassau County Legislature as ranking member or ranking minority member of several committees. Judi is the only person running for Town of North Hempstead Supervisor who is qualified for the job.

Vote for Judi. Vote for the people not the parties.
