Reader’s Write: Endorsing Turano as Munsey Park justice

The Island Now

I am writing to you to endorse John Turano in his run for re-election as village justice of Munsey Park.

My wife and I came to Munsey Park in 1987 to raise our daughter Cathy, then two years old. We were thrilled to become members of the Munsey Park community – a community like no other – and we were received with open arms by our neighbors and now have strong, lifelong ties to this village.

One of those Munsey Park families that we have the great honor of calling friends is the Turano family.

Cathy and John and Peggy’s son, Patrick, first met in second grade at Munsey Park Elementary School and grew up together, sharing many memories over the years.

We have always known the Turanos to be hands-on parents devoted to their children, loving to their children’s friends, and active, intelligent members of the community.  Their friendship and counsel is consistently and selflessly offered to whoever needs it, whether with regards to a legal question, a personal issue, or to support a local cause.

After years of knowing John Turano as friend and attorney, I am confident that John is a man of character, intellect, and fairness. His long and successful career, which includes many years litigating in court and now running a practice, speaks for itself.

He is a gentleman with an even temperament who executes his duties as village justice with objectivity and with the best interests of the community in mind.  He is firm but respectful and he brings the requisite dignity to the job.

After 27 years in this community, I believe that my finger is on the pulse of what Munsey Park requires in an elected official.

I am proud and feel lucky to support John Turano in his continued commitment to serve in our village. His re-election will be our celebration as well.
