Readers Write: Judi Bosworth right choice to lead the town

The Island Now

I have known Judi Bosworth for over 25 years. I met Judi when she was president of the Saddle Rock Elementary School PTA.

At the first meeting, I knew that we, as parents, were in extremely capable hands.

It is very rare to meet someone and feel so confident that our issues and concerns are going to be represented in a thoughtful, effective and compassionate manner.

Over the years, I have watched her work tirelessly, often unpaid, on behalf of those around her. Her commitment to her community has included 16 years on the Great Neck school board, including five years as president and she is currently in her sixth year as Nassau County legislator of the 10th District.

She has entered the political arena, not for the betterment of herself but for others who need her to speak on their behalf. And speak she has done.

She has spent countless hours reaching out to as many members of her constituency as possible in order to better represent their needs.

She has brought them together to discuss issues, and made sure they have direct access to government services, such as property tax exemption workshops, mammograms at no out-of-pocket cost, and women’s health seminars.

We have been lucky to have Judi contribute to and lead our community for so many years, in so many ways. She is not a politician, she is an advocate for all of those who reside in the area she represents.

We need her to be elected on Nov. 5 as the new town supervisor of North Hempstead.
