Pay her $10 million or she won’t leave: lawsuit

A woman living in an Old Westbury home purchased by her estranged brother-in-law is demanding he pay her $10 million to leave, according to a federal lawsuit.

According to the suit, Zhi Guang Zhao, of China, purchased the five-bedroom, six-bathroom house for $4.9 million in 2009 for his brother, Zhi Qiang Zhao, 58; his wife, Yun Liu Qin, 57; and their son.

Zhao paid the real estate taxes and maintenance on the home and even listed Qin as a co-owner on the deed, according to the suit, as she told him the purchase of the property would have been jeopardized without her involvement.

But after Zhao’s brother filed for divorce in March 2013, Qin refused to leave the residence, the suit said.

In turn, Qin has demanded $10 million “as compensation” for her interest in the property, according to the suit.

Guang’s attorney, Michael Konopka, declined to comment on the suit, saying it is a dispute between family members and should be kept private.

Konopka told the Daily News on Saturday that Qin’s ex-husband is no longer living at the house and their son is away at college.
