Reader’s Write: Letter-writer leaves bad taste with fine whine

The Island Now

Another week, another whiny letter from Steven Morris. Whine, whine, whine.

As usual, he’s carrying on about spending, I assume government spending.

Actually, the problem is that the government is not spending enough, but the TeaPotted sheeple will never understand that concept.

But this time he added all kinds of filler to his weekly word salad: the Miracle on the Hudson (thank you Captain Sully!); trains crashing. I don’t know what either of these has to do with spending. Mr. Morris, what the heck is your point? Or do you have a point?

He mentions people moving south and the cold weather. Then he adds a snarky question about global warming. Proving that he is just another person who does not understand the difference between climate and weather and how the first affects the second.

Whine, whine, whine.

And, horrors, the 35-minute car ride from Manhattan took 1-1/2 hours.

Perhaps he should have taken the train; he would have been home in about 30 minutes. And it would have been better for the environment.

Whine, whine, whine.

He points out businesses closing (because of spending????). Hmmmm, isn’t that the Free Market at work? Businesses open and businesses close. Nothing new in that.

Whine, whine, whine.

And on to unemployment. Breaking news!!!!

The unemployment number has always only counted those poor people who are getting UI, you know “insurance.”

It always excludes those too discouraged to keep looking for a job. And let’s not forget how gleeful he was in a previous letter that the long-term unemployed have gotten the shaft from the Republicans.

Wow, so happy that these people will now have difficulty feeding themselves and their families.

Whine, whine, whine.

And, no, Obamacare is not “forcing” businesses to cut back to part time, or cutting hours. Businesses are “choosing” to do that because they are too stupid, or greedy, to know that a healthy employee is a more productive employee

Then it’s on to student loans, “non-relevant” (who is he to decide what’s relevant?) majors that don’t lead to jobs.

Obviously does not understand that people from numerous fields are out of work. And that there are no jobs out there. Because the Republicans refuse to vote on a jobs bill.

The only jobs Republicans are interested in are for those who will monitor every woman’s lady parts; you know, “small Government”.

Speaking of education, does he really want to bemoan children, you know – our future – getting as early a start as possible on education? Really?

Whine, whine, whine.

Yes, the minimum wage needs to be raised. People who earn a liveable wage won’t have to be on the dreaded Food Stamps.

You know, all those veterans, children, elderly, disabled, etc. – people who, like the rest of us, enjoy eating on a daily basis.

In short, Morris, like most TeaPotted people has no use for anyone who has the nerve to have different ideas and/or values than his. If they are different they are obviously wrong.

Whine, whine, whine.

I’ll be glad to help him pack for his move to Boca. I need some relief from the weekly nausea.
