Readers Write: Mangano has Nassau County on right course

The Island Now

Not long ago a woman in Connecticut (I believe) who as was said spent $11 million of her own money in an attempt to get elected to public office. Not long afterwards another in Nassau County is said to have borrowed $200,000 to finance a bid for county office.

Not to be facetious but those jobs must really pay well to warrant that kind of investment. I will leave this as said.

One sees the changing of party affiliation for no other reason than attempting to become elected. The appearance of those candidates is that they really have no set values and only want to get in so that they can do their thing.

I don’t have any affiliations but I have my values and in light of what I am saying are what our Constitution says and what our country is supposed to be. I may appear to be against republicans but many bring it upon themselves. I do say that the governor of New Jersey is a ‘good guy’ and have no complaints about him. So, you see.

I see it as that we should keep Nassau County ‘steady as she goes’ and keep Mr. Mangano as executive.

Also, NIFA is helping to keep everything under control. Everyone is seeming to forget that there were reasons why Suozzi was voted out of office. He is now proclaiming the usual abstract things he says he will do. Either way, what we never see in this virtually highest taxed county is a clear financial statement breaking down the total revenue collected and where it goes.

It seems that there must be or was a mole-spy in the Obama administration with security clearance. Espionage.

In the old days perhaps, someone would toss something into a public trash can and soon a dirty unshaven beggar look-alike would rummage through it and take the wanted item or perhaps individuals would exchange identical briefcases. Times have changed. Now it is texts and e-mails. Perhaps the old ways were best after all.

Shh! The Obama administration has the duty to find the leak by whatever means necessary. We all depend on it. And yes, the government has the right and duty to keep things secret when necessary. Shut up, AP.

There are many out there who don’t want to pay taxes including organizations with secret donors and beneficiaries. What a setup for laundering money for tax avoiding purposes. They make their donation and U-turn, the money is returned laundered. The IRS has the duty to clean this up with whatever means necessary. We depend on its doing so.

I read the May 31, 2013 article “Tea Party offers country better path” by Mr. Morris. Perhaps he should go down to Boca Raton (mouse mouth).

The article is blatantly political and borders on libel throughout.

The IRS knows who it is after and the majority of us in this country know who we are up against. If all of the proper taxes were being paid (hear that, Apple too) there would be the money to cover the health issues.

Besides, it should be like automobile liability insurance. To be fair, a good responsible driver gets a good discount.

Those who don’t drive don’t need it. A discount for those who care for their health would be a huge incentive for doing so. Diet!

Maybe one day I will write my own ‘not so hilarious’ dentist story.
